The topic on this morning’s chat show was all about the importance that police play during mental health situations, questioning or trying to affirm how important that part is.
As for myself personally, as a foreword to this post, I have bipolar disorder, the most serious form of mental illness, and one that can easily devastate lives.
The police have been so important in my mental health journey, for me they have been “Level 1” – there when I needed help the most, when sometimes I was far away from home, and far away from those dear to me, albeit in the most harmless of situations.
They kept me safe and out of harms way, getting me to the next level of care. Mental illness can take a person on all sorts of journey’s, both within a person’s consciousness, and in the real world too!
Anyway, I found myself texting Nick, and if you are interested, here’s how the conversation went. I should have added “Twenty years well, a sense of purpose, enjoying life, and no looking back!”

A poem
A poem, a reflection of the past day or so… Inspiration at Fuel Box 🙂
My story shared
Right there on the air
An opportunity taken
Not a badge that I wear
On my list of desires
That I needed to do
To express my life’s journey
A life of service I choose
No need to write a story
There are many books out there
All I have to give this world
Is a heart free from fear
With warm regards,
Jason
