Question from Beth (not her real name), as she reflected on my quotation “Contrary to popular belief, many who tread the spiritual path are in fact less spiritual than those who lead ordinary lives”…
I’m curious as to your thoughts on this?
My answer to Beth, as I did my best to explain my feelings and how I was inspired to create the quote…
My rationale was that if one of the goals of spirituality and spiritual life is to find love and happiness, then there are so many people who feel love in their lives, who treat others with love and respect, have wonderful intuition etc., and will do anything to help others, where I have seen some people like I have met in the past who offer spiritual services really being quite damaging in the way they treat others, playing games, even if they think they are doing good spiritual work. Whereas for yourself and others spiritual life comes from the heart and we transform the lives of others in a positive way.
