Looking at our everyday tasks from an esoteric perspective…
Commenting to the owner of shop recently, a gifted lady who was simply assembling cardboard boxes, that one day she will be doing “greater things”, then immediately afterwards – and I knew it too – I had to stop myself – that there is no greater or more important task than whatever we might be doing right now.
It’s more than just “living in the moment” – it’s where we might not even be aware of the scale and positive impact that our smallest and most innocuous actions might be making. Even the simplest, most seemingly insignificant task can have the most incredible and positive impact.
Like the butterfly effect, as the concept goes, the flutter of a butterfly’s wings can make a change even on the other side of the world. From a spiritual perspective, arranging the furniture, cooking a meal, putting out the rubbish, making a smoothie, saying hello to the receptionist, anything for that matter, potentially you could be helping a person or improving a situation half-a-world away. Odd, you might think, and I agree! But then this all comes from personal experience.
Even with this example, assembling cardboard boxes, where we are all interconnected, especially from a spiritual perspective, our consciousness and emotions too, means that even the slightest action can have an incredibly powerful, positive effect – and it’s always positive. As fingers and thumbs fold cardboard and place items into position, or for any task for that matter, events and situations can be transformed in other ways, and in other locations that we aren’t even conscious of.
It’s true, dare I say, that sometimes genuine (in this case esoteric) spirituality requires belief to be suspended, but still, it can always be seen as food for thought, a thought that might spring to mind at the most innocuous time!
