My heart goes out to all the children and youth especially who have only ever known a “social media world”, and I reflect upon and recognise just how much better life was in many respects before we were all so instantly connected.
I used the example earlier in this topic of how I sustained an injury that lasted for weeks which allowed me to repay a spiritual debt. It’s not like that these days, not to the same degree, and a global spiritual healing that is happening right now for everyone has everything to do with this. The truth is that youth today have to deal with something in their lives that no generation before them ever had to.
God with His completely understanding, compassionate and loving nature recognises how social media is like a cloud that hangs over the youth and children of today.
Simply put, with how I feel, it’s not as easy for children and young adults to find their “internal compass” to the same degree that was more-or-less second nature for previous generations, my generation included, where for the most part we had clearer, less cluttered, and less preoccupied minds.
Since the advent of social media, young minds have less ability to determine what is right and what is wrong, out of no fault of their own.
God’s compassion is beyond measure, as I say, and He is with you throughout each and every step of your life’s journey, and everything is taken into consideration if we ever do something that isn’t in our best interests.
With this, God’s compassion sees that a child or young person needs, and thus receives, leniency on a spiritual level in every situation, such is the toll that the proliferation and accessibility of social media has on their lives.
God knows the goodness that is in our hearts, and He knows that sometimes things are truly beyond our control. He knows and feels what you go through, what we all go through.
When the current generation, “Gen Z” as the saying goes, find themselves from their earliest days in a world with something that pervades society in such a problematic and harmful way, in this case social media and the Internet, for me, I see it being up to those who are wiser, those who truly care, and most importantly those who have seen and experienced a different way of life, however long ago that might have been, to do whatever needs to be done to protect the world’s youth as much as possible, as I say.
Perspective is a wonderful thing, and for me, the way I see it, that’s something children and youth have less of nowadays than they should have, having no idea of what a world without social media was even like.
Social media has real benefits too, of course, helping to keep family, friends, and those close to someone connected and up to date with life events. But even then, these can cause problems, and that “cloud” that God sees cannot be escaped easily.
